Images: Canton CrashPolice said Friedow died shortly after the crash at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ypsilanti. They said a 15-year-old male passenger was also rushed to the hospital after suffering non-life-threatening injuries.A 45-year-old man involved in the crash was rushed to Annapolis Hospital and treated for minor injuries.The westbound lanes of Michigan Avenue were closed between Lotz and Haggerty roads for some time during the crash investigation.Officials on the scene said that slippery conditions played a role on the crash and they do not believe alcohol or drugs were a factor."I've known her since she was little, she was a sweet girl, I can't believe she is gone," said her neighbor Heather Crosley.Friedow moved to the states from Germany ten years ago and was just weeks away from graduating from Plymouth High School.School officials said she was a bright and actively involved student."She was taking some more challenging classes. I can tell you that last night when I got the call from police, I called the associate principal, he know who she was right away," said Plymouth Canton Schools Representative Frank Ruggirello.Several of Friedow's Facebook friends posted messages on her page after finding out about her death."You are a wonderful person. I wish I had more friends like you," wrote a Facebook poster.Friedow's last posting on her Facebook page was poignant."I walked out of a building today, felt the cold air and this light drizzle of rain hitting my face, and just groaned with pleasure. I love being alive," she wrote.Grief counselors will be at the school for several days to console the students.
